Ive recently begun working with Dublin Contemporary, directing a new series of online videos that will bring you a wide range of subjects relating to the event. This will cover everything from interviews with the artists and curators to behind the scenes footage of the work being installed. Dublin Contemporary Television, otherwise known as DCTV aims to present a new video to the public every two weeks, the first installment of which was the program announcement at the main venue of Earlsfort Terrace. The announcement revealed the full list of participating artists which is extensive and exciting, bringing a wide range of established and emerging talents, both local and international to Dublin this September. Some of my absolute favorite artists are involved: Richard Mosse, Omer Fast, Superflex, Willie Doherty and James Coleman. The videos will appear on the Dublin Contemporary website HERE as they are released, they will also be available on via Facebook and Twitter. You can watch episode 1 below:
Dublin Contemporary is a new large-scale visual art exhibition which will take place in Dublin from September 6th until October 31st. For more information and the full list of participating artists see www.dublincontemporary.ie

Ive been working as a features photographer for Totally Dublin, a free monthly magazine full of reviews, music, and articles about the weird and wonderful. The June issue had me shooting an American football match in Castleknock between the Dublin Rebels and the Dublin Rhino’s on what was one of the most gloriously sunny days of the year. Having never seen a game of American Football game before it was definitely an eye opening experience, and my second time doing obscure Irish sports photography for the magazine. The March issue saw me traveling to Wicklow town to shoot a game of polo at Polo Wicklow, another new sports experience, though I was not so fortunate with the weather as with the football game and had to photograph in a torrential downpour of rain and bitter wind.
This month I was much closer to home, photographing a real life viking by the name of Ian Barber who is heavily involved in the viking community of Ireland, engages in historical reenactments and currently organising a large scale series of events to commemorate the 1000 year anniversary of the Battle of Clontarf.
As a result of this continuing magazine work I have created a dedicate editorial section of my website which can be found here.
Below are a selection of images from my shoots for Totally Dublin.

MEDIA FEST EXHIBITION
Cheer Up! The worst is yet to come
The Threads Collective & invited artists ; Hugh Cooney, Dave Young, Niamh Ferris, Fintan Ryan, Amy Walsh, Cliona Harmey, Declan Hurley, Jonah King, Patrick Hough, more tba
This exhibition addresses two related but distinct subjects, that of Ireland’s uncertain future and our own indefinite prospects as art students. The vulnerability of the future and the fragile nature of the human mind towards this uncertainty constitute different but overwhelming domains of inquiry that the group has examined. The starting point for this work is based on the Philander Chase Johnson quote ‘Cheer Up! The worst is yet to come’
The show includes a varied and interconnected series of work comprising installations, photography, drawings, paintings, videos, performance and sound pieces. The purpose of the exhibition is to study the re-awakening of interest in what is forthcoming.
The Threads Collective are a recently formed alliance with a shared interest in interrogating current concerns through a variety of media. Affiliated with the 2nd year Media in The National College of Art and Design, they have curated this show to celebrate its 10 year anniversary.
